Otakon 2005 cosplay and Halloween 2005 costume


My first attempt at cosplay proper?ever! And it couldn't have been more obscure than this, haha!

I decided to be the most obscure (but lovable!) character from an old and unknown-outside-of-Japan series, which happens to be my favorite, The Rose of Versailles (????????). She's the nanny of the main character, Oscar, and the grandmother of Oscar's childhood friend, André. She's a total firecracker but very caring to both characters, which is why I love her so.

Obscure as my costume was -- because trust me, NOBODY at Otakon knew who I was, got a few people guessing Betsy Ross -- I somehow made it into the Otakon 2006 official con guide pages where they showed some favorites of Otakon 2005.

Also wore this costume for Halloween 2005 around the UMass Amherst campus. The weather was great and the foliage was perfect for some outdoor shots:
